Position: Cartridge Automation Technician I

Essential

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Set-up and shutdown of all equipment associated with the automation line per applicable Work Instruction with little oversight.
  • Operation of automation equipment in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Completion of batch-related documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory requirements with minimal oversight.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper inventory levels to minimize equipment downtime, and document lot-specific information of those items as needed.
  • Perform minor equipment adjustments as needed per the Work Instructions.
  • Identify and communicate issues that may arise on the automation equipment.
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing-related equipment and maintain proper documentation.
  • Monitor and inspect quality of material feeding into the automation line and material that is produced.
  • Comply with all Company Quality and Safety requirements, including appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in the department and throughout the site.
  • Assist with validation activities associated with cartridge automation equipment.
  • Assist with the completion of Non-Conformances, Deviations, and CAPA actions related to defined Quality processes.
  • Operate and set-up plasma treatment equipment according to Work Instructions.
  • Secondary trainer for new technicians within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Key Competencies
  • Mechanically inclined and familiar with automated equipment;
    User Interface preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices.
  • Knowledge of cGMP Practices.
  • Ability to learn and perform ERP-related transactions.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma with at least one year's experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred; or an associate’s degree in a technical field of study.
  • cGMP and ISO 13485 experience preferred.
  • Experience with a manufacturing process start-up or in sourcing preferred.
  • Prior experience operating an automated line preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.

  • Maintain a high level of consistent cognitive function.
  • Perform consistent keyboarding/computer use for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours per day.
  • Stoop, kneel or crouch when maneuvering the work environment.
  • Use hands to operate machinery/equipment in manufacturing and/or scientific laboratory environments for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lift/carry up to 50lbs.
  • Frequently move and walk around the manufacturing or laboratory environment and be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours per day.
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or meet the requirements for a medical or religious exemption.
