Overview

Fort Bragg NC We have a unique job opportunity for the right candidate to manage a warehouse team operation.

Purpose Of Position

The Project Manager (PM) manages the overall Quality of a warehouse operation that works according to applicable government regulations and standards. This activity is associated with barracks furniture management operations for the post.

Duties And Responsibilities (Essential)
  • Shipping, Receiving, Shipment processing and loading/unloading trucks, and performing lift truck operations coordinating documentation for storage and inventory management
  • Storage:
    Managing the efficient storage of furniture and appliances using an effective storage rack system
  • Hand Receipt Operations:
    Tracking soldier hand receipt documentation and coordination understanding of clear ownership of furniture property
  • Safety Operations:
    Daily safety awareness management and safety program operations
  • Direct Exchange:
    Managing the exchange of furniture after normal wear and tear using the direct exchange process and procedures
Data Operations, Documents and Reports

The PM is required to

  • Ensure that established data collection activities among the work team are documented and reported.
  • Ensure that defined daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports are produced and submitted to the government customer in accordance with contract requirements.

This is to be done in a time sensitive manner that allows for PM review for accuracy checks and reviews before final submittal to the government.

  • Be skilled (trainable) in the use of the Enterprise Military Housing (eMH) software tool for proper accounting and visibility into organizational furniture inventory.
  • Manage team data clerks who upload daily transactions into the eMH information system and provide the Furniture Management Office with daily reports such as bar code, and supply reports.
  • Our team uploads data on movements and all transactions daily such that accurate information is available for assessment and decision making. Accounting for the property within our control includes processes/procedures, data systems, physical inventory, reporting and management oversight, all managed by the PM.
Customer Service, Interface, and Interpersonal Skills

The PM must have the interpersonal skills to properly interface with an onsite government customer, soldiers with furniture questions/needs, and the work team itself. Since our responsibilities involve a direct soldier interface we must be sensitive to the dynamics of the soldier while also following required regulations. The PM must also have the right temperament to work directly with the on-site government customer to ensure customer satisfaction while operating within contract requirements.

Team

Management and Leadership

The PM must be a Team Leader, with the necessary management skills to ensure effective adherence to our internal Standard Operational Procedures and contract requirements. The PM must be the supervisor of a team of 8 or more people and manage their work hours and distribution of work activity. The PM must direct the efforts of the work team scheduling allocating work assignments daily, ensuring effective productivity and team efficiency.

This will also involve understanding of key personnel elements of the employee handbook and interfacing with corporate oversight management and Human Resource personnel.

Qualifications
  • General military experience in support functions including Supply, Property Management, and Logistics Services.
  • Key operational experience is also required in Warehouse Operations, Storage Systems, and Inventory Control.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing people and operations in supply, warehouse, or similar logistics type functions.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • College and military supply/logistics training is strongly desired
Physical Factors
  • Work environment is predominately office
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate a phone both making and receiving calls and taking or conveying information
  • Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Occasionally lifts/moves up to 25 pounds
