Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Our client, a leading residential community management organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the maintenance department supporting the upkeep and improvement of the community. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a reliable work ethic, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully with the organization.
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Durham, NC
Pay Rate: $20.00
Shift: Monday
- Friday (8am-5pm)
Plumbing
Replace faucets, toilets, and standard fixtures
Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, and drainage issues
Operate sewer augers for routine plumbing needs
Electrical
Replace outlets, switches, and lighting
Troubleshoot GFCIs, breakers, and basic residential wiring
Property & Grounds
Lawn mowing, weeding, trash removal, and general landscaping
Maintain curb appeal and community cleanliness
Unit Turnovers
Perform clean-outs, light repairs, and minor upgrades
Prepare units efficiently for incoming residents
General Maintenance
Complete service requests independently and in a timely manner
Support preventive maintenance across the community
2–3 years of general labor or property maintenance experience
1–2 years of basic residential plumbing experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions
Basic technology skills (work order apps / smartphones)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Willingness to complete a hands‑on maintenance skills assessment
