Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair work across a wide range of systems, including plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration, within our Medical Center for a third shift opportunity.

This position requires independent response to maintenance, repair, and emergency trouble calls during non-standard hours—including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays—to ensure uninterrupted facility operations and patient care.
Work Arrangement – On-site
Anticipated Pay Range - Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $21.62 to USD $35.75. Applicant must know the basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. A practical test will be conducted.
Applicant must comprehend and understand work order literature and requests.
Applicant must be able to work and maneuver in sensitive and obstructive areas within the facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Three (3) to four (4) years minimum experience required either in a specific trade or in general building maintenance and repair.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Valid N.C. Driver's license and a driving history acceptable under the guidelines of the Safe Driving Policy.
