Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is seeking an experienced IT Deskside Support Technician to join their team in Durham, NC!
This role is ideal for a hands-on, customer-focused IT professional who enjoys solving technical issues and supporting end users in a fast-paced environment. The IT Deskside Support Technician will provide both deskside and remote support to ensure a seamless technology experience across the organization.

- Hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network systems
- Collaboration with Help Desk, Network, Security, and Systems teams
- Ownership of workstation setup, onboarding, and lifecycle management
- 2+ years of IT support or deskside support experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS environments
- Experience with Active Directory/Entra Microsoft 365
- Experience with Intune or other MDM platforms
- Familiarity with Power Shell or basic automation/scripting
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ITSM platforms (Service Now, Jira, etc.)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with imaging, account provisioning, and hardware deployment
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced setting
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MCP, or similar certifications
- Provide deskside and remote support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security updates
- Set up and deploy new user workstations (imaging, account setup, access provisioning)
- Manage IT asset inventory and hardware lifecycle (deployment, repair, decommissioning)
- Support office technology including printers and video conferencing systems
- Escalate complex issues and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams
- Document tickets, resolutions, and procedures accurately
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding and IT orientation
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
- On-site support required in Durham, NC, with occasional travel between office locations
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 lbs
- Participation in on-call rotation or occasional after-hours support as needed
