Overview

General Function:
Provide complete IT services to a wide range of SMB customers. (Small company, 6 employees).

Network Engineer

IT Services Group

• Performs IT services both onsite and remotely for a range of SMB customers in a range of vertical markets.
• Creates or updates customer computer records.
• Enters time and notes for work done used for billing purposes.
• Researches and resolves customer IT issues using all available resources.
• Assists other technicians when needed.

• Reports directly to owner.
• Direction Given:
  Occasional follow-up with customers, regular monitoring of time entry.
• Assignment and guidance of special tasks or new customers.

2 or 4 year IT degree and/or 3-5 years of hands on IT experience as it relates to the SMB market, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Microsoft products and solutions
• Familiarity with PC and server hardware
• Knowledge of computer and office applications
• Knowledge of infrastructure hardware and software
• Basic problem solving skills
• Oral communication skills
• Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds
• Thoroughness and ability to complete tasks unsupervised

Combination of remote and onsite IT work done for a wide range of customers. Most located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. Some light to medium lifting of computers and other IT equipment. Near continuous use of computers.
