As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will evaluate, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in production. You’ll report to the Director, Site Reliability Engineering. This is a remote opportunity.

Work location:

512 S Mangum Street, Suite 100, Durham, NC 27701 (Telecommuting permitted anywhere within the U.S.)

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in production.
  • Advise design engineering on selection, application and test of electronic components and systems.
  • Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Determine reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.
  • Develop new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product reliability.
  • Make recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems.
  • Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
  • Streamline Kubernetes operations across multiple cloud providers.
  • Mature the organization’s tooling to standardize deployment practices and move toward a globally distributed infrastructure.
  • Build tools for the cloud infrastructure platform using Go, Python, or Terraform to automate repetitive tasks.
  • On‑board feature development teams and troubleshoot/support the platform.

Proactively work with other SRE teams to identify potential integration areas that are sources of friction and eliminate them.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate enterprise‑level experience in a site reliability engineering‑related role.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes operations across multiple cloud providers.
  • Experience building cloud‑infrastructure tools with Go, Python, and Terraform.
  • Distributed computing experience, including architecting, developing, and deploying services across cloud platforms and regions.
  • Proficiency with AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with MySQL and Postgre

    SQL.
  • Worked in a SaaS environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

Terms of Employment

40+ hours per week; $ per year (base pay). Base pay may vary based on location, experience, and market considerations. The role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
