Your next roleAs an Inclusion and Wellbeing Specialist, you will play an important role in advancing the commitments the US practice has made to center equity in its internal operations as well as its external engagements. The role will partner with discipline leaders and internal groups to support local diversity and inclusion programs, projects, events, and activities to ensure alignment with Buro Happold’s strategic goals and create an inclusive experience for all employees.
Yourkey duties
- Lead the US Equity Plan, implement strategies that embed inclusion and equity into every aspect of our culture and employee experience. Ensure the wellbeing pillars are integrated into the plan in an equitable way, supporting our global inclusion goals
- Using The Just Label framework, assessing DEI practices within the region, identifying areas for improvement and providing advice on practical solutions which champion diversity
- Collaborate with Human Resources to assess and address evolving DEI priorities across training, recruiting, promotion practices and benefits, ensuring policies foster equity, inclusion and belonging
- Partner with HR colleagues and senior leadership to shape strategies that foster healthy, high performing workplaces
- Work with our engineering, consulting and advisory practice groups to better embed equity into the firm's service offers
- Collaborate with the Global Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Engagement (based in Bath, England) on firmwide DEI efforts and progress against regional equity plan targets
- Partner with regional Employee Resource Groups to provide guidance, resources and advocacy that strengthen their impact, whilst respecting their autonomy. Ensure DEI principles are consistently integrated across every stage of the employee lifecycle, from recruiting to advancement, creating inclusive experiences at every touch point
- 7+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role with demonstrated success
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience cultivating a culture of diversity and inclusion through training, education, consultation, coaching and collaboration.
- Exceptional communication skills and knowledge of DEI and organizational change management frameworks
- Adept at working with data to inform strategy, set and measure goals, and drive continuous improvement. The ability to manage a portfolio of activities in a busy environment, adapting to shifting priorities
- Demonstrable experience of leading inclusion toward the business plan of a matrix complex organization
- A proven track record of collaboration with stakeholders across multiple office locations
- Experience working in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry is a plus
- Salary range of $90,000 - $125,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
