Overview

Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid)
Pay: $30 to $32/hour
Type: Full-time;
Contract
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Greene Resources is seeking an experienced Benefits & Leave Administrator to join our client’s HR team in a hybrid role based in Durham, NC. This position plays a key role in administering benefit programs, managing all aspects of employee leave, and ensuring accurate 401k and benefits processing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, service-focused, and experienced in supporting employees through various benefit and leave programs.
Job Description- Administer employee benefit programs and policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal standards.
- Manage all aspects of employee leave — including FMLA, parental leave, short-term disability, and other leave types — while maintaining accurate documentation and communication.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, timelines, and paperwork, providing clear and empathetic guidance.
- Process and manage 401k deductions, COBRA, HSA/FSA contributions, and related benefit transactions.
- Partner closely with payroll to ensure employees are paid correctly during leaves and benefit adjustments.
- Collaborate with HR, managers, and insurance vendors to manage work restrictions and coordinate return-to-work transitions.
- Support annual benefits open enrollment, assist with employee communications, and help coordinate with vendors.
- Audit and maintain benefit data, ensuring accuracy across HR systems and reports.
- Deliver exceptional service to employees and support HR team initiatives related to wellness, compliance, and benefits administration.
- 3+ years of experience in benefits and leave administration, including FMLA and 401k processing.
- Strong understanding of HR compliance, COBRA, and benefits-related laws.
- Experience partnering with payroll to resolve benefit or leave-related pay issues.
- Proficiency with HRIS and benefits systems (Workday, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or similar).
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with employees at all levels.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel/reporting skills preferred.
