This position is eligible for a $6,000 sign-on bonus.
Position OverviewSchool health nurses provide important preventive health services to help students achieve physical and mental health and reach their academic potential.

Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct care and case management components;
- Teaching students, staff, and families about health issues and procedures;
- Evaluating students with health concerns, managing care, and making referrals;
- Developing care plans for students with chronic or severe medical conditions, including medication administration;
- Collaborating with school district staff to enhance student health services;
- Providing nursing services in clinics and community programs as needed;
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound nursing judgment;
- Accurate record-keeping and interpreting medical records;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of nursing practices, public health principles, and available resources;
- Ability to coordinate and oversee work, work tactfully, and exercise good judgment;
- Effective partnership skills with patients and providers;
- Computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
Graduation from an accredited nursing school and at least one year of professional nursing experience.
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse license in North Carolina;
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
