Overview
Summary:
There is no pay associated with this position. This position serves as Without Compensation Research Assistant within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings - and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden.

- Experience:
You must possess general experience in providing operational support and coordination for the implementation of a research trial; assisting in managing timelines and deliverables for successful completion of the projects; writing research policies, guidelines and procedures, and other documents; facilitating the compliance with all regulatory and administrative project requirements; and validating appropriate data elements of the project. - Education:
You must possess a bachelor or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences. (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of application) - Note on experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. Credit is given for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. A full year of work is considered 35-40 hours per week;
part-time experience will be credited based on time spent in activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours per week. - Physical Requirements:
The work is predominantly sedentary. The employee typically sits to do the work, with some walking, standing, bending and carrying of items of moderate weight (e.g., large binders, banker-style file boxes, meeting materials, papers, books, or small parts). Hand-eye coordination for delicate testing procedures may be required.
