Occupational Therapist (OT) For MVA And Psychotherapy Trauma Program

Locations We’re Hiring In:

• Durham Region, ON

What do you need to be successful?

• You use good judgment and apply critical thinking when making clinical decisions
• You have demonstrated commitment to professional development

Qualifications

• University Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
• Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
• Minimum of 1 year of general OT mental health experience
• Completion of at least one of the following courses: CBT, ACT, DBT (if not completed, there is an opportunity to take one of these courses within your first year at FA)

What is a day in the life of a FA Occupational Therapist?

• Assess and treat individuals with neurological, orthopedic, mental health conditions, and injuries
• Assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals within their home and community settings
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on occupational analysis and clinical reasoning
• Liaise with a variety of community partners and rehabilitation professionals to facilitate client goals and independence
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and establishing personal networks
