Lincoln Community Health Center, Inc., a federally qualified community health center located in Durham, NC is recruiting for a Processing/Clinic Assistant. Durham is known as the Bull City, the City of Medicine, the Tastiest Town in the South, and the Startup Capital of the South. It's a two-hour drive from the beach, a three-hour drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is North Carolina's fourth largest city by population.

OCCUPATIONAL
SUMMARY:
Issues eWIC cards to clients; provides low-risk nutrition education and information on accessing benefits from local eWIC vendors. Takes anthropometric measurements and performs blood collection (hemoglobin) following WIC Program federal and state guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
General clerical, computer and math skills. Attention to detail required. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with staff and clients. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Handle unique programmatic situations with demonstration of tactful resolution. Competent in receiving and carrying out directions from a multi-tiered agency system, including Nutrition Services Branch.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Graduation from high school or equivalent required. Additional clerical and mathematical courses preferred. Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
Preferred two (2) years of general clerical/computer experience. Previous work environment involving families preferred. Public service work preferred.
