Position: Behavior Technician (BT) – Autism Services | Durham, NC

Autism Center of Excellence (Autism

COE) is seeking a Behavior Technician (BT) to join our clinical team in Durham, NC.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, are interested in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and are looking to build experience in a pediatric healthcare setting.
RBT certification is not required to apply
, and training is provided.

As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with children with autism, implementing behavior intervention strategies under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Compensation
  • Hourly pay: $18–$21 per hour (experience-dependent)
Employment Type
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available
  • Full-time is considered working 30+ hours per week consistently
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct 1:1 behavior support to children with autism
  • Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA
  • Support communication, social, and daily living skill development
  • Collect and document session data accurately
  • Follow behavior support and safety protocols
  • Communicate professionally with families and the clinical team
  • Participate in training, supervision, and team collaboration
Training & Certification
  • Paid training provided
  • Support toward RBT certification available for eligible employees
Requirements Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Interest in working with children in a therapeutic setting
  • Professional, dependable, and compassionate work style
  • Ability to follow clinical direction
  • Ability to pass required background checks
Preferred
  • Experience working with children (education, childcare, behavioral health, or related fields)
  • Interest in pursuing RBT certification or a career in ABA
