Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant is responsible for enhancing the performance of the clinical care team by supporting and facilitating clinical services with their assigned providers. The Medical Assistant is required to work in the field alongside the assigned provider as directed by the Lead Medical Assistant or MA Manager/Supervisor. You may be asked to travel up to 60 miles from your home.
This position typically operates on a Monday-Friday dayshift schedule.

Provider Support- Ensure that the clinical provider in the assigned building is able to focus on patient care for the day.
- Ensure that each patient is seen as medically necessary per clinical protocol.
- Serve as a “buffer” between provider and families/staff to facilitate proper patient management.
- Document appropriate encounters and times for CCM and BHI services.
- If scheduling is assigned:
Update scheduling rosters daily for accuracy and send schedules timely. - Assist with any day-of changes to scheduled visits due to acute needs, hospitalizations, admissions, or discharges.
- Prepare clinical documentation for assigned providers each day.
- Complete basic encounter notes as per discipline protocol.
- Perform medication reconciliation on all scheduled patients at each encounter.
- Enter appropriate facility chart data into patient encounter notes and assign to providers.
- Enter lab and diagnostic study results into patient encounters as per guidelines.
- Assist with collection and sorting of clinical paperwork needed for review, ensuring completion daily.
- Host telehealth sessions for providers as assigned, including routine and acute visits.
- Share patient schedules with key facility staff as needed.
- Assist with triage needs as directed by assigned providers, whether in or out of the building.
- Assist with triage documentation as needed.
- Ensure all paperwork is routed appropriately for the facility to Eventus providers, office, or families.
- Assist with obtaining consents for services as needed.
- Attend stand-up meetings to report facility needs and relay information to Eventus providers.
- Assist with discharge planning of clinical services as needed.
- Check in and out daily with facility staff regarding patient status.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Document appropriate encounters and times for CCM and BHI services.
- Check communication channels multiple times daily to meet patient needs.
- Inform patients and families of recent visits and new orders, deferring to providers when necessary.
- Communicate transitions of care to the CCM team to improve patient care and education.
- Adhere to Eventus Whole Health standards, policies, procedures, and employee handbook, including HIPAA regulations.
- Follow the dress code policy: clean, wrinkle-free, matching scrubs, appropriate closed-toed footwear, and name badge.
- Report to your Lead Medical Assistant for additional assignments if tasks are completed early.
- Seek further training if uncertain how to proceed with any task.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Expected travel up to 1 hour from home address
Typing speed of 45 WPM or greater
Medical scribing experience preferred
