Summary:

The Certified Technician provides support to the pharmacist by reviewing, sterile compounding and dispensing medications. All work is carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

This position qualifies for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5,000 in commitment incentives spread over a two‑year period. Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fulfill medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health‑system.

Sterile compounds medications under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Coordinate shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensure compliance with temperature requirements (i.e; cold chain, room temperature)

Document pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems. Ensure accuracy of data.

Respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.

Support hospital automated dispensing technology to supply correct refill medications through targeted distribution programs.

Receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.

Assist with the training of new employees, educating them in job‑specific functions.

Contribute to process improvement projects.

Participate in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP
797 and other regulatory documentation as required.

Other Information

Education Requirements: None required as long as other position qualifications are met. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a Pharm

D program. CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a Pharm

D program.

Professional Experience Requirements: 1 year sterile IV pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

Requires standing for extended periods (most of an 8‑hour shift)
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
Must be able to reach over head to access shelved product
