Position Overview:

An opportunity at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to provide clinical experiences that foster the graduate students’ knowledge, skills, and clinical hours required to meet ASHA certification and North Carolina licensure standards in Speech-Language Pathology, while supporting accreditation maintenance with the Council for Academic Accreditation (CAA).
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. The NCCU Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic provides evaluations and treatment services across the lifespan. The program is accredited by the CAA and NCCU is part of the UNC system.
Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies- Provide clinical supervision to graduate students during practicum experiences.
- Participate in service to the department, university, and the profession.
- Coordinate and potentially manage community-based practicum placements.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and university policies; maintain required documentation.
- Collaborate with faculty and community partners to support clinical education and student development.
- Earned Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA; possess or be eligible for NC licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Documentation of two hours of professional development/continuing education in clinical instruction/supervision if offered with the position.
- Three years of experience as a certified SLP is preferred.
- Candidates with expertise in neurogenic and acquired communication disorders, multilingual populations, and/or complex communication needs will receive preferential consideration.
