Research Analyst II (On Site)
Duke University's Department of Dermatology is looking for a Lab Research Analyst II (on site) to join our team located in Durham, N.C. in Dr. Julia Oh's laboratory.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
- Four years of research experience. A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience.
- Ph.D.
Dr. Oh's lab's goal is to understand the complexity of our body's microbial communities to create microbiome therapeutics for human disease. We are a hybrid computational and experimental group using diverse, cutting-edge technologies to probe the human microbiome and its functions with unprecedented resolution.
ResponsibilitiesConduct complex and independent investigations in planning, development and implementation of original experimental procedures and specialized laboratory techniques. Operate highly technical laboratory instruments and equipment. Collect information and data through observation and experimentation. Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Confer with principal investigator in developing plans for research projects and to discuss the interpretation of results and the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication.
Review journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments. Design and develop original procedures and techniques. Develop CRISPRi screening platform for investigating staphylococcal gene function and diversity, construct gene knockouts in human skin organoids, and examine host-microbiome interactions leveraging organoid and mouse platforms.

Anticipated Pay RangeUSD $59,829.00 to USD $96,509.00.
