Investment Accounting Manager; Hybrid

The Opportunity
Description

• Provides accounting/financial reporting support for their investment portfolio.
• Utilizes knowledge of the financial services or insurance industry.
• Reports to the Director of Investment Accounting and work a hybrid role in Durham.
• Works on pricing, work on data flows between our software (Clearwater) and our asset manager.
• Assists in reconciling Clearwater against banking records every month, completes quarterly investment schedules for financial reporting, reviews/implements new accounting guidance.
• Helps onboard new asset classes/portfolios.

NOTE:

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders) to be considered for this position.
• Office location is in Durham, NC 27713.

Work Setup:

• 3 days in the office in Durham, NC and 2 days remote.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or a related field.
• 5 + years of Investment accounting experience. (Has been a Senior Investment Accountant in their current role or a Manager overseeing investment accountants).
• Background in accounting within insurance or financial services.
• Fund accounting experience is acceptable.
• Strong experience with asset classes in investment accounting.
• Financial services industry experience (insurance company, financial services firm, or public accounting with financial services clients).
• Experience with operational aspects such as custody banks and ratings/pricing data.
• Experience with accounting products; bonds, equities, and other securities.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial modeling.
• MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
• Experience with the Clearwater platform preferred.
