The Senior Investment Accountant will support the business by providing accounting and financial reporting support for the company’s investment portfolio. We are seeking a driven, self-starter with a solid understanding of the financial services industry. Communication skills are highly important, as well as the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role reports to the Director of Investment Reporting, and is a hybrid working opportunity, required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

• Maintain our portfolio in the investment reporting system (Clearwater) to accurately account for the company’s investments
• Reconcile Clearwater against bank custodian records and Ares investment systems each month and direct any necessary adjustments to correct issues
• Support the completion of investment schedules for financial reporting and analysis
• Perform reporting for mortgage loans and assess income results for accuracy
• Onboard new asset classes and new portfolios as needed

• BA /BS in business, finance, or related degree
• Solid technology skills including advanced Excel and Power Point
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
• Collaborative approach based on the ability to listen and value others’ opinions
  
  MBA / CPA / CFA preferred
• 5+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in insurance or financial services
