The Opportunity
Tetra Tech’s Advisory Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Consultant / Principal. Responsibilities of this position will include interpretation of federal, state, and local agency regulations, evaluation of how they affect client operations and liabilities, and the development and implementation of solutions that assist our clients in minimizing risk. The role involves analysis, oversight, and review of project work products such as site-specific technical data, calculations, technical reports, cost estimates, environmental permit applications, and permit terms and conditions.
These responsibilities will be applied to transactional diligence, environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulatory compliance, site inspection and auditing, as well as site investigation, and remediation practice areas. Periodic site visits, field work, EHS audit on-site services and other short-term travel may be required. The position will also involve building client relationships, supporting new business development activities such as proposal preparation, and assisting with cross‑selling opportunities.
The successful candidate will also be expected to interface regularly with clients as a trusted advisor in order to build client relationships.

Essential Job Functions- Interpret federal, state, and local agency regulations.
- Assess potential environmental impacts and challenges.
- Scope and direct projects, including leadership of project teams.
- Analyze data and review project work products, including site specific technical data, calculations, technical reports, cost estimates, environmental permit applications, and permit terms and conditions.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and help direct work for multi‑project clients, and multiple clients, including supervising teams of up to 10 consultants.
- Help develop and support strategic initiatives for continued work with key clients and business sectors.
- Support the work of others and maintain quality control on projects and on administrative tasks.
- Work independently to perform project tasks, design, calculations, and reporting to meet the project specific requirements.
- Be a point of contact for clients and maintain a positive relationship with clients, willingly and frequently checking in with client contacts to identify needs that Tetra Tech may support.
- Engage and retain relationships with commercial industrial, financial, law and energy firms, state, federal, and local government, and private equity and other investment groups to facilitate opportunity generation.
- Assist with proposals, including the development of technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates, and preparation with staff and with the client.
- Actively participate with local, regional, and global project teams to develop strategic client and opportunity capture plans and successfully implement those plans.
- Work toward being known within Tetra Tech as a go‑to team for your core resource services.
- Other activities will include Request for Proposal (RFP) management, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and project implementation.
- Capitalize on industry relationships and your professional network to maintain and establish new client relationships and ensure they are managed for growth.
