Description
Senior Project Scheduler is a leader and contributor in the organization within the scheduling function on multiple utility-scale solar and BESS projects ranging from $25MM to $300MM. This role requires full lifecycle project experience with a strong emphasis on EPC execution and cross-functional coordination. In addition to applying Critical Path Method and Takt Planning method to projects ensure all functions work in concert, the Sr Planner teaches and coaches less experienced persons within the organization and may also interface with clients, on occasion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Master Plan:
Develop and manage Level 3 Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for utility-scale solar projects (typically 50MW - 600MW+). - Supply Chain Synchronization:
Meticulously track long-lead procurement items, including Transformers (GSU), Inverters, Trackers, and PV Modules, ensuring delivery dates align with site mobilization and installation tasks. - Interconnection Management:
Integrate and manage interconnection milestones (backfeed & sync) all subsequent commissioning tasks through Substantial Completion. - Earned Value:
Update and track daily/weekly production rates for civil work (trenching, grading), structural work (piles, racking), and electrical work (DC stringing, MV terminations). - Weather & Risk Modeling:
Manage risks and change management issues against weather-sensitive phases (e.g., civil works during "rainy season") and supply chain "force majeure" events. - Change Management:
Lead the Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for change orders, whether they stem from unforeseen subsurface conditions or AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) permit delays.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- The Solar Expert:
You have 6-10+ of scheduling experience, with at least 2 years specifically in Solar PV or Wind. You understand the difference between Mechanical Completion and Substantial Completion in an EPC context. - Software Native:
Mastery of Primavera P6 is mandatory. Experience with TAKT Planning (Lean-based construction scheduling method) is a major advantage. - Logistics Specialist:
You know that there is a two-week delay in piling driving which ripples through the entire electrical schedule, and you know how to re-sequence to save the COD. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Communication:
You can sit with a Site Superintendent in a Team’s call and an Executive in a boardroom, translating schedule logic into actionable reality for both.
