Duke University’s Facilities Management Department is looking for a Senior Coordinator, Quality and Project Commissioning to join our team. This role is an opportunity to represent Facility Operations as not simply a Project Manager, but as an integral technical piece in the planning and delivery of utility construction and renovation projects.

Job Duties
- Participate as a member of the design team after feasibility studies and project initiation activities are completed.
- Attend project scoping meetings with the Project Manager, Building Coordinator, and/or Facility Engineers to understand the scope of work, key customers, stakeholders goals, project schedule, and potential impact on existing building systems and utility infrastructure.
- Review and provide written comments on design documents and project specifications.
- Review control sequence of operations for compliance with Facilities Management Department (FMD) Construction Standards.
- Ensure equipment accessibility for all maintenance and service activities, including access doors, electrical panels, disconnects, and components.
- Review exceptions to FMD Construction Standards identified by the project team and determine if they are justified or acceptable.
- Provide feedback on value-engineering options and escalate unresolved items to the Project Steering Team (PST).
- Discuss Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans with the OPM Project Manager (PM) & Construction Manager (CM) to determine contractor qualifications, licenses, required certificates, and the installation testing plan.
- Offer timely recommendations on key areas impacting long-term building operations and maintenance.
- Review Commissioning Scope of Work and Testing Plan, including the Commissioning RFP and schedule of commissioning activities, and review the Commissioning issues log.
- Decide if the Capital Projects Coordinator or another FMD representative should participate or witness certain acceptance or commissioning tests.
- Assist the Project Manager in identifying FMD employees to review submittals, and review pertinent submittals and substitution requests.
- Review the integrated Project Construction Schedule, including milestone and detailed events.
- Set quality expectations by participating in coordination meetings, reviewing coordination drawings and BIM models (where used), and discussing installation methods.
- Coordinate Operations Team support for project construction activities, including shutdowns and service interruptions.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $59,829.00 to USD $94,860.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Minimum Requirements- A.S. Degree in engineering technology, architectural technology, building maintenance, construction, or other related field.
