ROC Operator Job Description
Join an innovative team in the rapidly growing field of battery power technology. The ROC Operator plays a pivotal role in monitoring and operating remote energy storage sites, ensuring seamless energy management and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Monitor and operate remote energy storage sites in real time.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve alarms, faults, and abnormal events.
- Track customer support requests in the CMMS (Salesforce).
- Communicate issue status and resolution steps to customers.
- Coordinate with field personnel by providing operational support during maintenance activities.
- Follow all defined safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Strong energy systems support and network support expertise.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum 2-year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering, or equivalent technical work experience;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and explain technical concepts and scenarios.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze numerical data.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a Remote Operation Center.
- NERC Certified Operator or NERC operations experience.
- Experience with data-visualization platforms.
- Familiarity with SQL and basic data-analysis techniques.
- Experience with distributed power generation, renewables, or industrial controls.
- Computer skills including SCADA operations, MS Office, or Linux basics.
- Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams and network drawings.
Work in a leading energy storage solutions technology company, located in Durham, NC Remote Operations Center. Operate in a 12-hour, 2-3-2 shift pattern, rotating between day and night shifts, including weekends. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.
