Water Resources and Waste Water Engineer

My client is a 500-person Civil Engineering firm actively seeking junior to senior level Water & Wastewater Engineer talent. The Project Engineer is a professional with 10-15 years of experience. This individual will design and/or manage various infrastructure projects owned by municipalities and local school districts, reporting directly to the principal. Projects include roads, underground utilities, public buildings, recreational facilities, and land use applications submitted by private developers.

PRIMARY

DUTIES:
  • Act as the client manager for one or more municipalities or public agencies, serving as the single point of contact between the firm and the client. Supervise and coordinate all projects performed for the client to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop or implement engineering solutions to assist clients in improving and maintaining their infrastructure.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems using computer-aided design tools.
    • Calculate load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
    • Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, or labor to assess project feasibility.
    • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geological data.
    • Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess project impacts.
    • Ensure all design activities comply with environmental, safety, and governmental regulations.
    • Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies.
  • Attend public meetings conducted by municipal clients as a Municipal Engineer or Land Use Board Engineer. Prepare and present reports on bid proposals, project status, and developmental reviews.
  • Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or capital program modifications.
  • Support field activities of construction inspection staff, including providing data, reviewing shop drawings, and client coordination.
