Purpose of Position

The Assistant Director – Undergraduate Admissions will focus heavily on managing travel processes, including the annual recruitment calendar, responding to 500+ travel requests, processing event payments, corresponding with alumni to assist with recruitment efforts, and utilizing data to inform decisions under the direction of the Associate Director. This position will directly supervise the campus tour coordinator and student ambassadors, serve as backup to the campus tour coordinator, and act as Associate Director or Director in their absence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven excellence in verbal and written communication.
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to present information in one‑on‑one settings and in small or large group situations.
  • Prioritization, planning, and decision‑making skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and student information systems (e.g., BANNER, DATATEL, Admission

    PROS).
  • Excellent customer service, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking in large and small group settings.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of populations and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic, organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Experience reviewing and managing student applications, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all records via the BANNER system.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Ability to train and supervise staff and student employees and establish effective working relationships.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required with at least 3 years of admissions and/or management/program coordination experience preferred. Degree must be earned from an accredited institution. Experience involving public contact, oral and written communication, and interpretation of policies and procedures in higher education or related educational capacity preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
