Position Name:
Lecturer, Department of Nutrition Sciences, North Carolina Central University (NCCU), Durham, North Carolina.
Primary Function:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, evaluate and grade assignments, participate in departmental and university activities, attend campus events as directed, deliver online courses using CANVAS or similar systems. Strong technology training and passion for nutrition education are required.
- Teach four (4) nutrition classes online synchronous per semester;
- Respond promptly to student questions/issues;
- Provide academic advising and office hours;
- Serve on departmental committees and recruit students;
- Deliver classroom instruction that includes lectures, seminars, tutorials, and assessment of student coursework;
- Support accreditation and annual reporting initiatives, collecting and analyzing assessment data;
- Support department or university outreach efforts in the community and on campus.
- Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field (Doctorate strongly preferred);
- Credentialing as a Registered Dietitian (RDN) is required;
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in nutrition, preferably via online platforms;
- Strong technology skills related to distance education delivery;
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong analytical skills and reasoned judgment;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.
