Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Division of Academic Affairs, through the Office of the Provost, serves a pivotal role in supporting the academic enterprise of North Carolina Central University. This includes strategic planning, academic program development, instruction quality, research initiatives, enrollment management, and faculty/staff professional development. The Office of Faculty Affairs supports faculty who turn NCCU’s academic mission into action through their teaching, research, and service.
The Office of Faculty Affairs supports postdoctoral researchers, who are integral to the research, teaching, and learning activities at NCCU.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs manages and supports faculty-related academic processes. The Vice Provost assists in interpreting university policies and regulations related to faculty, and oversees faculty recruitment, appointments, promotions, tenure, professorships, awards, academic leadership development, and reporting. The Vice Provost will build strong working relationships across academic units and ensure the engagement and collaboration of relevant groups to foster highly effective scholars.
