Primary Function of Organizational UnitThe School of Law’s mission has long been to provide an education and a voice to the underserved. As a school of opportunity, NCCU School of Law works to maximize the potential of students who often come from populations that are underrepresented in the legal field.
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Assistant/Associate/Professor will teach courses in the discipline area of Law. Areas of particular interest include Contracts, Business Associations, Sales, Evidence, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Torts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Ability to design and teach courses at the J.D. level

Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies Function ResearchThe Faculty will conduct research in a particular field of knowledge, and publish findings in professional journals, books, and/or electronic media. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participate in professional conferences.
Function InstructionalThe Faculty will develop and design curriculum plans to foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. The Faculty will provide tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintain class related records, and assess student coursework. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
Function Public ServiceServe on various Law School and University committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues. Participate in campus and community events.
