Job ResponsibilitiesInstruction Preparation & Delivery
- Review, internalize, and facilitate KIPP NC adopted & scripted curriculum.
- Teach K‑8 Math using Open Up Resources.
- Teach K‑8 ELA using Fish Tank.
- Teach K‑8 Science using Amplify & supported science materials aligned to NC Standards.
- Teach 9‑12 English & History using AP For All Curriculum.
- Teach 9‑12 Math & Science using KIPP NC Approved Materials.
- Practice lesson delivery at a high level, following the pacing guide with fidelity.
- Create exemplar responses and documents that hold students accountable.
- Use assessment data (Interim Assessments, MAP, EOGs, EOCs, summative, formative, etc.) to drive instruction and adjust lessons.
- Embrace feedback to pursue excellence.
- Maintain accurate gradebook, records, and data‑tracking systems.
- Embody and maintain the school’s values, policies, and culture.
- Take personal responsibility for student achievement.
- Keep a clean, student‑work‑displayed classroom.
- Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff through regular phone calls and newsletters.
- Attend required events:
Back‑to‑School Night, Parent‑Teacher Conferences, Athletic Events, weekend community events, Report Card Conferences. - Participate in daily school functions: arrival, advisory, lunch duty, recess, dismissal.
- Collaborate with your coach in identifying strengths and growth areas for professional development each year.
- Receive feedback in real time, one‑on‑ones, classroom observations, and school walkthroughs.
- Attend Practice Clinics to master pedagogical skills.
- Attend Professional Development Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm weekly, plus additional sessions as needed.

- Valid North Carolina teaching license, or willingness to seek reciprocity or pursue state certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area.
- Pass Criminal Background Check.
- Commitment to closing the opportunity gap.
- Enthusiasm, grit, professionalism, sense of humor.
- Ability to stand and actively monitor classrooms for 8+ hours daily.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more as necessary.
- At least 2 full years of teaching experience in K‑12.
- Experience in a high‑performing charter school or schools with many students receiving free/reduced lunch.
- Demonstrated success in raising achievement levels of economically marginalized students.
- Praxis exams passed or to be passed by September 2025.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Hours:
M, Th, & F 7:30 am – 3:30 pm;
Tu & W 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. - Curriculum, materials, and resources provided.
- Monthly Teacher Work Days include professional development, data analysis, and other essential learning‑support activities.
