Job Responsibilities- Review, internalize, and facilitate KIPP NC adopted & scripted curriculum for K‑8 Math, ELA, Science, and for 9‑12 subjects as applicable.
- Deliver instruction with fidelity to pacing guides, using planned lesson deliveries, exemplar responses, and assessment data (Interim Assessments, MAP, EOGs, EOCs, summative & formative) to guide instruction and meet student needs.
- Maintain accurate gradebook, records, and data tracking systems.
- Build and sustain a positive school and classroom culture by embodying school values, maintaining a clean and engaging classroom, and fostering relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff through regular communication and participation in school activities.
- Collaborate with a coach to identify growth opportunities, receive and apply feedback, and attend professional development events such as Practice Clinics, PD Tuesdays & Wednesdays, and regionally led sessions.
- Serve as a proactive team player—cover for absent colleagues, comfort students in distress, and contribute to school functions (arrival, advisory, lunch duty, recess, dismissal).
- Deep commitment to KIPP NC’s mission and belief in the potential of all students.
- 3+ years of K‑12 teaching experience, preferably in a high‑performing charter school.
- Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license, or willingness to pursue state certification within six months of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area.
- Pass Criminal Background Check.
- Enthusiasm, grit, professionalism, and a sense of humor.
- Ability to stand and actively monitor classrooms for 8+ hours each day.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more as necessary.
- More than 3 full years of K‑12 teaching experience.
- Experience in high‑performing charter schools or schools with a high proportion of students receiving free and reduced lunch.
- Demonstrated success in raising achievement levels of economically marginalized students.
- Praxis exam completion by September 2025.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Competitive salary paid semi‑monthly.

Staff for the 2024‑25, 2025‑26, and 2026‑27 school years will experience a salary increase to compensate for higher hours and responsibilities. For the 2025‑26 school year, instructional staff will work: 7:30 am – 5 pm Monday‑Thursday, 7:30 am – 3:45 pm on Friday, with additional Saturday school and Summer Academy commitments as needed.
Each month, teachers will participate in Teacher Work Days focused on professional development, data analysis, and instructional planning.
