Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty physician to join our team. Rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) and track will be determined by the candidates qualifications and career focus. The ideal candidate will have:
- Board certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Outstanding clinical skills in pediatric emergency care within a high-volume, tertiary academic center.
- A commitment to teaching: medical students, pediatric residents, emergency medicine residents, and PEM fellows.
- An interest in advancing an academic portfoliowhether through education scholarship, quality & safety, simulation, global health, ultrasound, EMS/trauma, or clinical research.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Clinical coverage in the pediatric emergency department
- Active involvement in the educational mission: teaching rounds, simulation, conferences.
- Engagement in scholarly activity aligned with the candidates interests and the divisions priorities (e.g., QI, patient safety, educational innovation).
- Participation in divisional, departmental and institutional committees/initiatives, especially as we grow toward the NC Childrens era.
- Faculty mentorship and leadership opportunities will be available for those with interest.
