The Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at Duke University is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric otolaryngology-head and neck surgeon to lead the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology as the Division Chief. We are seeking a candidate at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor with strong credentials for academic leadership, and a vision for leading a nationally ranked division recognized for its high-quality clinical care, innovative research, and the training of future leaders in the field.

The next Chief of Pediatric OHNS will shape not just subspecialty care at Duke Health, but also have the opportunity to be part of the leadership team that launches one of the largest children hospitals in the United States.
The Chief will lead the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology to further expand its clinical footprint in a manner that supports the use of advanced surgical options, promotes access for all through growth and innovative delivery models, and pursues pediatric multidisciplinary care of the highest quality.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will be an outstanding academic leader and respected clinician with a record of academic productivity and demonstrated ability to effectively inspire, lead, and mentor. The following personal qualities, professional qualifications, and experience are expected:
- Ability to develop a collaborative vision, with a record of implementing new initiatives that advance the field of Otolaryngology.
- Experience with leadership and management of financial and other resources.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, retaining, and mentoring top faculty and students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that build and maintain trust with faculty, staff, administration, trainees, and all other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing and actively promoting inclusion and health equity.
- Qualified for Associate or Full Professor Rank.
- National recognition as an academic leader in the field.
- Outstanding academic credentials.
- Experience with in the academic medical center setting and working with a culturally diverse population.
- An uncompromising commitment to excellence in research and education.
- Experience leading a faculty group.
