Lab Corp is seeking a Hematopathologist to join the team at the Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology (CMBP) in Durham, NC. CMBP, reporting >1M test results annually. The CMBP facility is a 150,000 sq. ft. facility that employs ~500 people focused on enhancing the patient and customer experience with Lab Corp. CMBP includes the divisions of Integrated Oncology, Dianon Pathology, and Integrated Genetics and offers testing in the departments of hematopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, general surgical pathology, genetic/molecular testing, and clinical trials.

- Professional interpretation of hematopathology specimens: bone marrow and lymph node biopsies, peripheral blood smears and flow cytometry.
- Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
- Oversight and assurance of accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested
- Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies
- Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronically
- Medical Degree from an accredited college/university
- Licensed physician with Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Subspecialty Board Certification in Hematopathology
- Active / eligibility to attain medical license in the following states: NC, FL, GA and IL (Additional state medical licenses might be required due to practice necessity)
- Minimum 3 years working experience in hematopathology highly preferred
- Experience with bone marrow, blood, and lymph node morphology and interpreting multicolor flow cytometry test
- Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
- Working knowledge of cytogenetics and molecular genetics preferred
- Experience in a hospital / large referral laboratory experience preferred
