Carpe is the fastest-growing deodorant brand in the US. Our team is composed of ~25 insanely smart people working together in person in downtown Durham, NC. Our office is rather open with many private niches, and our energy level is HIGH.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Demand Planning Analyst who excels in data analysis, attention to detail, and cross-functional problem-solving. This role sits at the intersection of Sales, Operations, and Finance — supporting Carpe’s upcoming retail launch in early 2025 and ensuring seamless execution across forecasting, inventory, and retail operations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations and Head of Sales to forecast demand, plan inventory, analyze sell-through performance, and resolve chargebacks or deductions with retail partners.
This role offers an opportunity to be deeply involved in the daily rhythm of a fast-growing CPG brand while learning every facet of how products move from factory to retail shelf.
Forecasting & Analytics
- Build and maintain sales forecasts for retail partners in collaboration with Sales and Operations.
- Analyze sell-in and sell-through trends by SKU, channel, and promotion to inform planning decisions.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for demand forecasting and inventory performance.
Inventory & Operations
- Translate sales forecasts into actionable production and replenishment plans.
- Partner with supply chain and 3PL teams to monitor inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstocks.
- Support new product launches, planograms, and promotional activity execution.
Retail Execution & Compliance
- Investigate and resolve retailer chargebacks, deductions, and compliance issues.
- Partner with Finance to ensure trade spend and deduction accuracy.
- Maintain data integrity in retailer portals and internal systems, ensuring all item setup and pricing details are accurate.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance to align forecasts, resolve issues, and streamline retail processes.
- Serve as a key contact for retail partners on sales and operational questions.
- Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
1–3 years of experience in sales operations, retail analytics, or supply chain (CPG or retail experience preferred)
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, charts)
Analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional, fast-paced environments
Self-starter who’s curious, organized, and eager to learn
Bonus If You HaveExperience with chargeback management, EDI systems, or retailer compliance
Familiarity with trade spend tracking or demand planning systems
Prior experience working with Retail, Walmart, or other large retailers
