With 34 stores and counting, we are the largest chains of AAA club‑owned repair facilities in the USA. Every AAA Car Care facility is staffed with ASE‑certified technicians who ensure that every car is treated with the utmost care. A Day‑in‑the‑Life of a General Service Technician

General Service Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, directed by a Manager or Service Advisor. They perform basic automotive repair, adjustments, and maintenance procedures, including oil changes, tire replacement and repairs, and general vehicle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for and complete digital vehicle inspection.
  • Test drive vehicles and prepare vehicles for delivery to customers after necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience.
  • Learn from Technician A, B, and C colleagues to further advance your career.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources; ability to independently perform basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Proper use of equipment and tools, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.
Preferred Qualifications
  • G1‑Auto Maintenance & Light Repair certification.
  • State inspection certificate, where applicable.
  • AC 609 Certification.
Work Environment
  • May experience loud noises and odors intermittently.
  • Standing, walking, and normal physical mobility including lifting up to approximately 80 pounds.
  • Must have own tools appropriate for skill level.
  • Must be able to work in the heat; fans are present in all facilities.
  • Must maintain work on your feet in a concrete facility for the entire shift.
