Pay Range: $23.40 – $40.32 per hour (flat‑rate pay model based on regional productivity averages).
Position SummaryThe Lead Technician will diagnose and repair drivability and electrical systems, while mentoring a team to enhance customer care and satisfaction. Strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise are required.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair to specifications: brake system, hydraulic system, exhaust, fuel ignition (primary and advanced), electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers in clear, non‑technical language.
- Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within the first two years of employment; company pays tests and fees.
- Valid driver’s license at all times with ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Proficiency in brake diagnosis/repair.
- Proficiency in alignment, steering, and suspension diagnosis/repair.
- General automotive maintenance and tire repair skills.
- Current federal, state, and local certifications/licenses where applicable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical individuals.
- Reading, writing, and basic math skills.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain/transmission, and automotive heating/AC.
- At least five years of automotive repair experience, proven via third‑party assessments or completion of a vocational‑technical school program.
- ASE certification in at least three of A1–A8 (L1 may be one of the three; Brakes and Steering & Suspension ASEs preferred).
