North Carolina Connections Academy (NC Connections Academy) seeks a highly organized and service‑oriented professional to serve as Administrative Assistant, supporting the daily operations of the school’s regional office and statewide virtual programs. This role plays an essential part in ensuring efficient, professional, and student‑centered administrative operations by providing operational, logistical, and communication support to school leadership, staff, students, and families.
This is a 12‑month position reporting to the Business Office Manager.
School SummaryNorth Carolina Connections Academy is a tuition‑free K–12 virtual public charter school serving students statewide. The school delivers a personalized learning experience through the Connections Academy model, combining high academic standards with flexible, technology‑enabled instruction. While instruction occurs virtually, regional office operations and in‑person events play a critical role in supporting testing, training, compliance, and family engagement across the state.
Key Responsibilities- Manage front‑office operations and serve as a professional point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors
- Support in‑person events, including testing days, staff trainings, and family meetings
- Coordinate logistics for school events and professional development activities
- Maintain office inventory, mail distribution, and coordination of student shipments
- Support enrollment processes and compliance data tracking
- Enter, update, and verify student and staff information in school systems
- Maintain confidential physical and digital filing systems
- Draft and distribute communications as directed
- Track tasks, deadlines, and follow‑ups to support operational efficiency
- Support interactions with vendors and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Technology proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Ability to work in‑office (Durham) as required and travel to school events
- Commitment to a 12‑month work schedule
