Position Title
Grad Assistant – Admin
Position OverviewKey responsibilities include supporting enhancements to the university’s research portal website, assisting with the implementation and tracking of a pilot research funding program, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen research capacity, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and increase student engagement in research across campus. The Graduate Research Assistant will work closely with DRSP staff and faculty stakeholders to organize information, develop communication materials, support data collection and reporting, and assist with outreach and coordination efforts.
Responsibilities- Perform administrative duties for the Division of Research and Economic Development, including drafting emails, memos, and other documents.
- Use office equipment and information systems (telephone, computer, fax, copier, etc.) to access, input, and verify standard information.
- Coordinate tasks and establish priorities in response to office workflow.
- Understand general operations of the functional unit, including staff and program responsibilities.
- Serve as Co‑Coordinator for the NCCU Institutional Review Board (IRB). Responsibilities in this role include screening submissions, preparing minutes/activity reports for IRB meetings, drafting approved correspondence to investigators, and managing the flow of information (mail, email, telephone calls).
- NCCU graduate student in good standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software and information systems.
- Ability to coordinate tasks and set priorities.
