The WFP Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) based in Nairobi Kenya is part of the Global Headquarters. Within ESARO the Global Corridor Coordination team under Supply Chain and Delivery (SCD) Division coordinates reliable and efficient corridor operations and directly manages the South Africa / Durban Corridor operations.
The Corridor Operations unit is responsible for ensuring the timely and reliable delivery of food and non-food items across the region through regional corridor management as well as the direct operation of the South Africa / Durban Corridor.
The Logistics Associate South Africa / Durban Corridor Operations works under the supervision of the Logistics Officer.
Job PurposeTo ensure efficient timely and accurate execution of warehouse and transport operations through effective coordination with suppliers real-time data capture and enhanced visibility across the supply chain.
Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive) South Africa / Durban Corridor Operations Coordination- Support the South Africa / Durban Corridor annual budgeting and reconciliation exercise.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory data.
- Support the physical inventory counts including planning communication confirmation and reconciliation.
- Monitor and maintain the condition of the stock in the warehouse.
- Record and report food losses during transportation and storage.
- Oversee transport execution and ensure accuracy of related documentation.
- Identify and resolve operational issues related to South Africa / Durban Corridor Operations activities.
- Register service receipts for logistics services in LESS / WINGS.
- Validate logistics suppliers invoices and register the LIVs in the system for transport process through the support to payment function.
- Provide inputs for supplier performance evaluations.
- Improve supplier performance through close communication and coordination.
- Support Durban corridor performance management through KPIs reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support Logistics Officers as needed.
- Alternate Logistics Assistant for Operations Optimization as needed.
- Real-time capture and visibility of operational data in the corporate system.
- Accurate reliable and reconciled inventory data.
