The Senior Director, Regulatory Compliance is a senior leadership role that plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

This role is vital for ensuring that the organization operates within the bounds of applicable laws and regulations, whilst safeguarding the organization's reputation, minimizing legal risks, and promoting ethical conduct in the rapidly evolving IT industry.

This role provides leadership and management of Regulatory Compliance professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and oversees the implementation of a comprehensive regulatory compliance strategy aligned with global and regional laws and regulations relevant to the IT industry.

Oversees the creation and updating of compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensures the establishment of monitoring processes to track compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards and regularly reviews and assesses the effectiveness of compliance programs.

Identifies potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities and oversees the development of mitigation plans to address them and oversees internal and external audits related to regulatory compliance.

Oversees the development and delivery of compliance training programs for employees to raise awareness and ensure understanding of compliance standards and requirements.

Oversees the management and promotion of ethical conduct throughout the organization and ensures set up of whistle blower programs and channels for reporting unethical behavior.

Oversees compliance with data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), including data handling, consent management, and data breach notification procedures.

Reviews and assesses contracts, agreements, and partnerships for compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and acts as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and authorities.

Develops and manages incident response plans for compliance-related breaches or violations, including corrective actions.

Oversees the management of regulatory compliance policy, principles and procedures in order to ensure proactive regulatory compliance practices.

Ensures the management and coordination of on-going preparation, testing and monitoring of compliance with government regulations.

Observes trends on emerging regulatory compliance issues and review compliance documentation and contractual provisions concerning non-compliance issues.

Coaches, mentors and develops team of regulatory compliance professionals to ensure the efficient operation of the regulatory compliance function.

Monitors changes to relevant legislation, governance codes and the regulatory environment to ensure compliance.

Knowledge and Attributes:

Excellent legal expertise of relevant laws and regulations, including data protection, antitrust, export controls, and industry-specific regulations that impact the IT sector.

Excellent understanding of international regulatory environments and experience with compliance on a global scale.

Excellent leadership skills to manage compliance teams and initiatives.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior leadership/executives, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.

Ability to analyze complex regulatory issues, assess risks, and develop effective compliance strategies.

High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to fostering a culture of compliance and ethics.

Excellent proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee compliance initiatives and programs.

Excellent proficiency in compliance auditing, reporting, and documentation.
