We are currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe, functional, and cost-effective manner.
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant technical qualification or trade certification will be advantageous (Electrical and plumbing)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or beverage/food environment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance.
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Perform day-to-day general maintenance of buildings and facilities.
- Carry out minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tiling, and basic mechanical work.
- Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify maintenance issues and safety risks.
- Ensure all lighting, doors, locks, windows, and fixtures are in good working order.
- Maintain offices, warehouses, ablution facilities, parking areas, and common areas.
- Monitor HVAC, generators, pumps, and other facility-related equipment (where applicable).
- Assist with office setups, moves, and basic installations.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations.
- Report hazards, incidents, and equipment faults immediately.
- Ensure maintenance work is conducted safely and according to company procedures.
- Assist during safety audits and inspections.
- Liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance work.
- Supervise contractors on-site to ensure work is completed to standard.
- Sign off on completed work and report any issues.
- Record all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Complete job cards, checklists, and maintenance logs.
- Report recurring faults and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
