Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Commercial Insurance Broker, based in Durban. The Commercial Insurance Broker will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients, understanding their specific insurance needs, and offering tailored solutions. Key responsibilities include prospecting and acquiring new clients, analysing insurance policies, advising clients, negotiating terms with insurers, and maintaining strong client relationships. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with industry regulations and provide excellent customer service while identifying opportunities to optimise and expand business relationships.

Qualifications
  • Strong sales, client relationship management, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of insurance products, including short‑term and commercial insurance solutions
  • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities for assessing client needs and providing tailored insurance recommendations
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and external partners
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards in the insurance industry
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Relevant certifications in insurance or financial services (e.g., RE5) are advantageous
  • A diploma or degree in finance, insurance, or business administration is preferred
  • Experience in commercial or short‑term insurance is highly desirable
