KEY OBJECTIVES OF ROLE
Strategic and tactical role in the Digital Technology organisation and is accountable for Enterprise Architecture, Technology Portfolio Management and the Information Governance and Management Framework. The Group Head must deliver and implement strategies and tactics for their area of responsibility to ensure that the enterprise goals are achieved. Furthermore, the role must build strategic alignment across the group through strong collaboration with all impacted stakeholders and by acting as the business facing leader responsible for shaping and driving these strategies.
This role is also responsible to align technology strategies developed by the strategic platform and transformation team with business goals, creating a holistic blueprint that integrates an organization's structure, processes, information, and technology to drive efficiency, agility, and successful digital transformation, ultimately ensuring technology investments support strategic objective. The Group Head must provide thought and frontline leadership to support in developing a digital organisation that is both efficient and effective.
The role is accountable to develop policies, procedures and working practices so that the strategic and tactical goals for enterprise architecture, information management and the technology portfolio are all met.
- Defining and implementing the strategies in relation to Enterprise Architecture, Information Management, and Technology Portfolio Management
- Ensures compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities, and technology direction.
- Is responsible for implementing effective technology portfolio management and governance arrangements supported by effective reporting.
- Leads the definition, implementation, and review of the organisation’s portfolio management framework and performance.
- Leads the creation and review of a systems capability strategy (aligned with business capabilities) that meets the strategic requirements of the business, incorporating market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies.
- Develops enterprise-wide architecture and processes that ensure that the strategic application of change is embedded in the management of the organization, ensuring the buy-in of all key stakeholders.
- Sets parameters for the prioritization of resources and the changes to be implemented. Recommends and implements corrective action by engaging and influencing senior management. Leads the ongoing monitoring and review of portfolios for impact on current business activities and the strategic benefits to be realised.
- Develops and implements the enterprise information governance and management framework, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset. Oversees policies, standards, and practices to ensure the quality, integrity, accessibility, and security of information across the organisation.
- Drives the adoption of information governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, ethical use of data, and alignment with business objectives. Champions a culture of data stewardship and accountability across all business units.
- B.Com / BSc Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
- Formal training or certification in data management (e.g. DAMA, CDMP) and experience applying these in regulated or high-complexity environments.
- Current certification or relevant experience in Portfolio Management
- Business Process Management Methodology (i.e., BPM, BABOK, PMP, PPO)
- 15+ years of experience in managing relationships with internal business customers as an Enterprise Architect or various domain architectures.
- Experience and sound knowledge of business management and improvement practices.
- 15+ years’ experience leading and influencing customers and matching needs to strategy.
- Extensive experience in enterprise data management, including data governance, quality, and architecture across complex organisations.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams in the implementation of enterprise-wide information strategies and governance frameworks.
