Responsible for management of Health, Safety, Environmental and Risk for the site's operations bycollecting data on work environments for analysis. Implement and conduct evaluations of programsdesigned to limit chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks to workers.
Duties and responsibilities- Management of Occupational HS and Process Safety risks
- Identifying HSE and Process safety operational site risks and ensure that measures are in place to mitigate the risk.
- Implement prescribed HSE systems and programs, to enhance HSE for the site.
- Management of contractors at the site level
- Ensure the implementation of HSE and Process Safety prescribed programs at the site.
- Ensure the implementation of HSE and Process Safety leading and lagging indicators at the site.
- Develop and implement emergency management programs and ensure continual testing programs are in place to determine its effectiveness.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and consult/inform all concern, through audit reports, regarding the general status of the site HSE.
- Create awareness of deviations from the expected and steps necessary to correct and maintain anew level of awareness and performance.
- HSE reporting and analysis of HSE risk trends to determine root causes to adequately addressproblem issues.
- Coordinate all incident investigations, draft appropriate reporting documentation highlightingrecommended remedial action.
- Analyse, evaluate set and improve HSE standards.
- Review and identify problems in existing operational procedures and processes and affect changesfor optimal contribution.
- Conduct site HSE training including induction, toolbox topics and monthly awareness themes.
- Assist in awareness campaigns including wellness days, AIDS days and HSE Days
- Implementation and Maintenance of IMS management systems
- Coordinate in the implementation of IMS systems including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45000
- Maintain Responsible Care and SQAS accreditation at site level.
- Assist in the systems audit according to an audit program.
- Ensure the implementation of HSE management IT systems such as Iso Metrix, SharePoint Document Control, Chem Ges SDS maker, Achiever plus and CRM Quality module at site level.
- Ensuring high levels of legal compliance
- Remain informed and continuously adapt to adhere to legislation, company policy, COPs and ensureall Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental activities are standardized and monitored acrossthe organisation.
- Ensure compliance to all required statutory permits such as fire permits, effluent permits, scheduletrade permitsetc.
- Ensure compliance to all environmental licenses and Environmental Authorisations
- Appropriate Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety
