In this position, you’ll be on the frontline of safeguarding the bank from regulatory and reputational risk. Your expertise will ensure that every transaction, process, and report meets the highest standards of compliance. Think of yourself as both a detective and a protector — spotting irregularities, ensuring timely reporting, and guiding teams across the business.

• Reviewing and clearing sanction alerts, escalating suspicious cases when needed
• Managing daily regulatory reporting to the FIC (CTRs, IFTR)
• Reviewing and responding to Section 27 & 32 requests
• Ensuring SARS payments are processed on time
• Conducting compliance monitoring and preparing monitoring reports
• Supporting branches with freezes, unfreezes, and dormancy removals
• Collaborating with auditors and internal stakeholders on compliance matters
• Handling compliance queries and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations

• 1–3 years’ experience in compliance / regulatory roles within a banking environment
• An LLB or related qualification, plus compliance-related certifications
• Solid understanding of the FIC Act, Regulations, and banking legislation
• A sharp eye for detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and the confidence to apply them
