Job Description

Reporting into the Director, in this role, the Professional Quantity Surveyor will handle the following:

- Preparation of cost plans and elemental estimates based on architectural drawings.
- Development of overall project budgets, including allowances for engineering services.
- Application and management of cost escalation in accordance with industry practices.
- Basic understanding of financial feasibility structures and project viability assessments.
- Knowledge and application of the JBCC Construction Contract and its implementation within project environments.
- Measurement and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for both principal and subcontract tender documentation, including drafting contract conditions and compiling tender preliminaries.
- Ongoing cost and budget management of principal and subcontract packages throughout the project lifecycle, including monthly valuations, project payment summaries, and detailed cost reporting.
- Application of value engineering techniques to optimise project costs while maintaining required quality and performance standards.
- Measurement, negotiation, and finalisation of project final accounts with relevant project stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Quantity Surveying qualification
- Must be a registered PrQS with SACQSP
