Senior Structural Engineer

Job Summary

Multi-disciplinary global company’s Umhlanga office in Durban seeks a permanent Senior Structural Engineer. To be considered, the candidate should have the following:

• B.Sc.Eng, BEng or BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering with 10+ years’ experience with a focus on private sector projects.
• Professionally Registered Engineer with ECSA.
• Solid technical background in structural analysis, modelling, and hand calculations, ensuring sound, code‑compliant, and constructible designs across a range of materials and building types.
• Ability to conduct and lead site inspections, assess workmanship, and issue site instructions.
• Proven experience taking projects from concept to completion.
• Extensive experience in private sector projects.
• Experience leading a team of junior engineers.
• Ability to integrate structural design elements with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and structural modelling software e.g. Tekla, Prokon, Master series, ROBOT.
