Design Engineer​/Technologist

Hire Resolve’s client in Kwa Zulu-Natal is currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer/Technologist to join their team. As a Design Engineer/Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and managing engineering projects for various clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Strong technical skills and contribute to Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:
  Earthworks, Roads, Stormwater Reticulation, Sewer Reticulation, Water Reticulation
• Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager (professionally registered) prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractor
• The preparation of feasibility reports
• Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when required
• Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames. This includes the technical support to senior members of the Technical teams.
• Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels.
• Site supervision as and when required
• Complete any other work related to projects within the Department
• Ability to use the following software proficiently:
  AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D , Bill Software
• Contribute to the preparation of project reports and develop proficiency in technical report writing
• Deliver high quality civil engineering design, drafting and reports in an efficient and effective manner
• A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects.

Requirements:

• Completed minimum BTech or .
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Ms Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
• No less than 4 years’ experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)
• Working knowledge of drawing and design packages
• Well presented, articulate, assertive, and confident individual
• Mature and professional demeanour
• The ability to work independently as well as support a team of Professionals
• Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required
