Project Design Engineer

As a Project Engineer at BOHRMEISTER, you will be responsible for designing and project management of mechanical components, systems, and equipment mainly relating to Exploration Drill Rigs. Day‑to‑day tasks will include creating detailed technical drawings, collaborating with production teams, testing prototypes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Durban. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to bring designs from concept to completion.

• Proficiency in Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software, 3D modeling, and technical drawing development
• Strong background in mechanical systems design, analysis, and testing
• Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and machine design principles
• Problem‑solving skills combined with attention to detail and innovation
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to deliver under project deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Professional engineering certification or licensure is advantageous
• Experience with industry standards and safety protocols
